A tip from area manager, Cressida: I love the north of France and have lived in Normandy for many years. The history of the region constantly amazes me, but its not all about history - the food and drink here are very special and for kids, the beaches and open spaces, plus the ease of getting around are a winner in my book. Being so close to the UK means its easy to get to by several different methods, whilst a jaunt into the Loire and Vendee is also easy in one day. There are also more genteel pastimes in exploring gardens, chateaux and other artistic treasures.
