All types of activities are available locally. As well as 12 golf courses within a 20-mile radius, there are spas and thalassotherapy centres, surfing at Bidart, delta-planing, horse riding, mountain biking, go-karts and hiking, to mention just a few of your options!

The Pays Basque region has a lot to offer, and St Jean de Luz a short drive south would be an excellent place to start exploring. Not far from St Jean is La Rhune mountain: you can take the little train to the top and enjoy panoramic views across the region from the 3,000ft summit, before returning either by train or on foot (allow 2-3 hours if walking down!). And if you feel like popping over the border for a taste of another country during your stay, why not? Spain is only 45 minutes away: you could visit attractive San Sebastian, or even Bilbao and its Guggenheim museum. Either would make a great day trip and add a little extra something to your Biarritz beach holiday.
