This villa near Cabris in France was formerly an olive mill to the village. This old stone property has now undergone complete and sympathetic renovation, retaining the authentic charm and atmosphere of its former life and is now a charming option for a villa holiday.
With thick stone walls, terracotta floors and 'country cottage' style decor, this charming property will transport you back in time to a quieter, more gentle pace of life - a truly relaxing and unforgettable holiday retreat. There are 1.5 hectares of terraced grounds with vines, wisteria, mature palm, lemon, orange, cypress and olive trees, and a large gravel terrace with a pergola dining area and an outdoor summer living room.
The small village of Cabris is a delight, perched high up on a hilltop with various restaurants and cafes, and festivals throughout the summer. The perfume capital of Grasse is nearby with an interesting pedestrianised old town and perfume factory museums open to the public. The region around Grasse has always been well known for its olive groves, and Le Vieux Moulin is in fact an authentic olive oil mill which has been restored with a great deal of taste. You have the impression of actually living in another century, it is so full of character. Cabris itself is a lovely quiet little village, with its flowered balconies and streets, and I would certainly encourage you to have your camera with you when you look out over the surrounding countryside down to the coast. One of my favourite games is to count the number of swimming pools, but it is not as easy as it looks! There are some great restaurants here, and a panoramic viewpoint.
