Vence has a classic French square and very interesting church (the famous “Matisse chapel”), as well as pavement cafes where you can sit and watch the world go by. The old walled town is a delight to wander around. There are fountains at every turn! And whether you want to buy fruit and vegetables at the daily market, browse in attractive art galleries and craft shops, or simply slow right down and soak up the atmosphere in a pavement cafe, with a coffee and croissant or something a little stronger, you will be well catered for here. The enchanting perched village of St Paul de Vence nearby is another place you might like to spend some time.

Villa Mozart is very well positioned if you want to explore the French Riviera – you are spoilt for choice when it comes to deciding where to go! The bigger towns of Cannes, Nice and Grasse all offer a different kind of experience, while smaller places such as the old town and harbour at Antibes are also very appealing. You also have numerous beaches of course, with the closest only 6 miles away. For a change of scene you could easily travel a little further on to well-known Garoupe Plage, or take the children to the excellent water park at Biot en route to Antibes. All sorts of watersports are available in this area of course. A day out in the little principality of Monaco is another option, and you could even take the train, which follows this scenic stretch of coastline.
