Loire Chateau with private pool - Surrounded by well tended gardens and extensive parkland, this splendid period property is built on the shores of its own private lake, within easy access of many renowned chateaux and manor houses in the Loire Valley.
Extremely appealing both inside and out, this house has a charm reminiscent of a slower, bygone era, with its original tiled and wooden floors, panelled walls and ceilings, and marble fireplaces. Why not make the most of this elegant atmosphere by taking afternoon tea in the lakeside gazebo, or relaxing over dinner whilst watching the sun set over the lake? The house also boasts more modern features such as air conditioning, a heated pool and WiFi so you can rest assured you will be very comfortable here.
This is an ideal base from which to visit the famous chateaux of the Loire Valley. Among the best known are those at Amboise, Blois, Azay-le-Rideaux and Chenonceaux - a visit to the Loire region would be incomplete without seeing at least one of these important & historic buildings. The nearby town of Château-Renault has a weekly farmers' market, banks, pharmacy, supermarkets and a cinema. The town was founded on the leather industry: you can visit the tannery museum and also the local château, which was built in 1150. The chateau, which is now the mairie, offers superb views over the town. Other places worth visiting in the area would definitely include Le Mans and Orleans, with pretty Beaugency a little further along the Loire making another worthwhile trip.

A visit to the Loire is not simply all about chateaux and wine, it's also a great region for children's activities too. There are numerous theme parks in this area plus you can go kayaking or fishing, and the coast is not too far away for days out. For the adults there are some lovely walks, wine tasting and, of course, some excellent regional produce to sample in the local restaurants. An ideal family location.
