The Loire Valley is an enchanted land of vineyards, flowers and rolling green hills dotted with more than a thousand chateaux. The region is called the "garden of France" and lives up to its name, with an abundance of farm-fresh products: poultry, game and fish, vegetables and fresh fruit and of course the famous "Tarte Tatin". The Loire Valley boasts a number of mouth watering cheeses, 5 of which are certified local products. How about some  activity after sampling the regional dishes by canoeing and kayaking on the Loire, France's longest river is fun.  There is fishing throughout the Loire basin and  various ballades and excursions along the river.
