Chateau Edouard is a romantic and elegant château from the early 17th Century. It sits in the lush and verdant landscape of Haute Normandie with splendid gardens and parkland. The château was first a hunting lodge and then greatly enlarged in 1661 in the reign of Louis XIV. It has a well documented and dramatic history further adding to the interest of this important piece of French aristocratic architecture. The château is full of original family furniture, tapestries and artifacts.

The local village of Saint Maclou has a butcher, baker and restaurant and is an easy 600 metre walk. This Normandy château rental is well located for the channel ports, the charming resort of Deauville and Paris. For those interested in medieval history the sites of the battles of Fecamp, Crécy, Harfleur and Agincourt are in easy reach and for modern history the D-Day beaches and the breakout battle sites are on the doorstep.

Normandy is a green and fertile corner of France, well known for its stud farms or haras which dot the countryside, and also for the cider and Calvados that is brewed in almost every farm. This part of France is also famous for its rich and delicious cuisine, and the cheeses it produces in variety and abundance.
