Your nearest town is Bonnieux, one of the many historic "hill villages" in the region. Dating back to Roman times, it is set on a plateau overlooking the Calavon valley and Mount Ventoux 25 miles to the north. You will find bakeries, a small grocery store, a pharmacy and a local weekly market here: with its attractive buildings and pretty fountains it is a lovely place to stroll around, maybe stopping off at a pavement cafe for a drink while deciding which restaurant to dine at later! Just 6 miles away is Apt, a bustling town known for its fruit, lavender, truffles, its colourful Saturday market and attractive old town. You will find some good restaurants here too. Slightly further afield but still only a relatively short drive are Avignon and Aix en Provence, both of which would make wonderful day trips from this ideal romantic Provence getaway for two.
