Description This is one of our most uniquely placed villa rentals in Menton with pool, being walking distance between two countries! Villa Olivier is a completely restored, classic early 1900s villa with an enviable position overlooking Menton, close to the border with Italy. It sits in a residential area with superb views of the sea and port, surrounded by exotic Mediterranean flora and fauna. Walking downhill, you can reach the sandy beach and port in 5 minutes, or the old town in 10 minutes, both with a selection of restaurants and cafes ndash; but as you wine and dine and soak up the delightful atmosphere, remember the walk back home is uphill - or you can hail a taxi of course! The Italian border is only 800 yards, so you may prefer a stroll into Italy. Friday is a large, popular market day in Ventimiglia. In the early 1900s many English aristocrats built houses in Menton because of it' s favourable climate and many of these wonderful villas are now open to the public. Monaco is 10 miles along the coastline with its famous Casino and Royal Palace. |

Accommodation Ground floor: Large entrance hall with original marble staircase. Living room, (TV,DVD,CD)original marble column, open fireplace, French doors to dining terrace. Dining room with open plan kitchen , (TV/DVD/CD). Guest WC. First floor: Double bedroom (2m), ensuite dressing room with bath, separate ensuite shower room , WC. Double bedroom (1.60m), French doors to terrace, ensuite bathroom , WC, Double bedroom (1.40m), French doors to terrace, ensuite bathroom, WC, Single bedroom (1.2m). Separate shower room , WC. An additional single bed can be placed in any of the double bedrooms for a child sharing. Grounds: Terraced grounds - although there are balustrades and railings, care must be taken with young children on the terraces. Small town garden with exotic plants and lovely views, plunge pool, barbecue. The caretaker lives unobtrusively in a self-contained apartment on the lower ground floor of the house - this has independent access. |
