Whilst in the midst of secluded Var countryside, with lovely, far reaching views towards the Massif des Maures, the Bastide is only 3 miles from the small village of St Antonin du Var and 4 miles from Lorgues with a good selection of shops, cafes and restaurants and a weekly market. The countryside around this self catering holiday Var home is ideal touring country; unspoilt forested hills dotted with quaint medieval villages such as Tourtour, known as the village in the sky, and Entrecasteaux with its marvellous chateau and gardens. There is a fabulous 12th century Cistercian monastery just 15 minutes away, the Abbey de Thoronet. Within 50 minutes you can be in St. Tropez. The Gorge du Verdon is considered to be one of the most spectacular in Europe and offers plenty of opportunity for canoeing, kayaking, white water rafting, rock climbing, mountain biking and hiking. The vast Lac de Ste Croix has lovely beaches and yet more watersports. There are two good 18-hole golf courses within 30 mins of this self catering holiday Var villa. |
