French country cottage in village South West France - just a stone's throw from the village bakery, post office and local tennis court, Tourelle is a pretty stone-built villa with an attractive tower, gardens and pool.
Set right in the heart of the rural, green landscapes of the area known as Quercy Blanc, this charming property makes a superb base if you want rest and relaxation as well as the opportunity to experience the very best this region has to offer. If you are keen to get to know the area there are many places well worth visiting for day trips: pink-bricked Montauban with its attractive arcaded central square, Moissac with its famous cloisters and abbey, Cahors with its Valentre bridge, good shopping and the river Lot for boat trips, and the historic city of Toulouse with its opera house and rich cultural life.
The Quercy Blanc area is noted for its high quality gastronomic produce and cuisine so during your stay at Tourelle do try some local restaurants and take time to wander round the local markets, such as the market in Montcuq every Sunday. Duck, goose, truffles, fruit preserves and the local red wines (especially the very dark reds of Cahors) are particular regional specialities.
Tennis, golf, walking, cycling, riding, fishing and parachuting are all available locally, and the Parc Walabi theme park near Agen is always a popular choice for parents and children alike.
