And if you want a day away from the beaches of the Riviera, why not head slightly inland to the Massif des Maures? These beautiful hills are thickly forested with sweet chestnut, cork oak, holly and pine trees. The village of Collobrières is the centre of the local cork and sweet chestnut industries, and if you like rambling or hiking, this is an ideal place to start.
