Cortona Tuscan Villa with pool – this property consists of three aristocratic 19th century villas, occupying a large estate abundant with chestnut woods and olive groves, within walking distance of the medieval walled town of Cortona, jewel of Valdichiana. The main villa and the two independent annexes have been carefully refurbished in order to preserve the original features of the buildings.
All the spacious rooms have a warm feel created by the terracotta floorings, wooden beamed ceilings and period furniture. Through the numerous large windows guests can enjoy stunning views over the surrounding valley and the cypress and chestnut forests of the Appennine mountains.
All villas, each with their own independent entrance and access to the garden, sit in an elevated position, with the grounds gently sloping towards the pool, a true haven of beauty and tranquillity, yet only a stroll from Cortona, one of the oldest and best preserved walled cities in Tuscany. Here you can take a walk along the winding roads and the typical ladder-like alleys, sampling local produce and Tuscan delicacies from the market and gastronomic shops, before setting off to discover Cortona's artistic treasures.
Taste ‘Vino Nobile’ in Montepulciano, only 18 miles from your villa, and then spend some time at the exclusive Spa in Chianciano Terme, to pamper yourself in the healthy spring waters of this ancient Tuscan countryside town, and your stay at Villa Francesca will be truly unforgettable.

You are going to be very comfortable in this elegant and spacious property, and what a fabulous location in rural Tuscany. Cortona, one of Italy's most beautiful town is close at hand. The town was the preferred holiday destination for many noble and wealthy families from inland Tuscany because of its mild climate, view of lake Trasimeno and flowery countryside.
Begin your tour of the town in Piazza della Repubblica and Piazza Signorelli. Both are framed by public and private medieval buildings. The Palazzo Comunale (Town Hall) sits at the southern part of the square and the area known as Croce del Travaglio delimits the northern edge. Cortona has also a rich cultural and spiritual history. It was the location chosen by Saint Francis of Assisi for the construction of his first convent. The fourth Sunday of the month, Piazza Signorelli hosts Cortona's traditional antique market. Over 60 exhibitors present antique objects, furniture and more. Have a dinner at Ristorante La Bucaccia, a real typical restaurant, where Cortonese and Tuscan cuisine are celebrated every day by chef Agostina.
