You will never forget this peaceful villa and its amazing views over the Umbrian countryside. You will find good restaurants and shops nearby in the little town of Umbertide: the local cuisine is very good and you must try out Il Capponi. There are also many ‘pizzerie’. In many cases, eating out is as cheap as eating at home. The property is ideally placed to explore Tuscany and Umbria, since you are within easy reach of Siena, Arezzo, Assisi, Montalcino and Perugia (which hosts the famous Umbria Jazz Festival in July). In October there is a delicious aroma of chocolate for the Eurochocolate Festival. It is dedicated to lovers of the “food of the gods”). Other spectacular hilltop towns include Cortona, Preggio (with its annual classical music festival), Lisciano Niccone (with its 11th century castle) and Montone (where the annual Film Festival attracts an international audience). For slightly longer trips Rome and Florence are within two hours' drive.
