Family holiday villa with pool near beaches - La Vendéene is situated at the end of a quiet lane five minutes' walk from the lively town of Talmont St-Hilaire, surrounded by fields and private gardens and just a short drive from family-friendly sandy beaches.  This bungalow cottage offers straightforward and comfortable accommodation for families. The large pool is not only heated but also fenced and gated, so parents can relax under the pergola while the children play in the spacious, enclosed garden.

The beautiful long sandy beaches for which the Vendee region is well-known are close at hand: the stunningly beautiful "Blue Flag" Veillon beach is just three miles away for sandcastle-building, surfing, kite-surfing or just sunbathing. You'll find restaurants and shops a short stroll away in Talmont St Hilaire, enabling you to leave the car behind for a while and making life very easy indeed. There is also a local market on Thursday mornings, in front of the chateau. When you feel like a change of pace you might like to visit the lovely renaissance market town of Fontenay le Comte, pretty Niort with its Thursday markets, street entertainment and illuminated buildings, or La Rochelle with its attractive, historic old port and new marina: Europe's largest aquarium is here.

There are coastal and inland cycle paths in the Vendée; the children are sure to want to visit the nearby Indian Forest  adventure park, and there is an excellent motor museum and plenty of summer events held locally. Don't forget to sample some delicious brioche, one of the regional specialities, during your stay!
