Celebrate everything equine at Avignon?s Cheval Passion

One of the highlights of January in the Provence region is
Cheval Passion, a huge five-day event staged in Avignon celebrating all things
One of the largest events of its kind in Europe, Cheval Passion
attracts around a hundred thousand visitors every year, and is now in its 31st
year, running between 20-24 January. During a quiet time of year in Provence,
this event makes for a great family day out, and is of course ideal for anyone
interested in horses or riding.
Over 250 exhibitors will be gathered at the city?s Grand
Expo in order to showcase their horse-related wares, from saddles to clothing,
food and riding tack, with the show?s events calendar also full to bursting.
Throughout the five days, visitors will be able to enjoy a host of
competitions, dressage, demonstrations, children?s workshops and the Iberian
Without a doubt, though, the centrepiece of Cheval Passion
has to be the Crinieres d?Or (Golden Manes) gala, a lavish spectacle which
takes place every night. During the performance, spectators can expect all
kinds of surprises from celebrated and future stars of the equine world. This
year?s show will feature, among others, Lorenzo, Mexico?s Marco Zermeno and the
Ecuries de Faustine, a special show featuring white Carmargue horses.
