Celebrate an Occitan Christmas in Pezenas

18th November, 2015
Christmas is a much-anticipated occasion in France, with regions all over the country celebrating the winter holiday in their own special style. The town of Pezenas, in the southern region of Languedoc-Roussillon, also celebrates Christmas in its own unique way and will be hosting the Nadal Occitan, or Occitan Christmas, as it does every year during December.

Featuring a host of traditional Languedoc festivities and activities, including stalls, music and entertainment, the Nadal Occitan has something to get everyone into the Christmas spirit. Alongside the usual festivities there will also be a craft fair, which is held in the town centre every year, as well as the Christmas carols by candlelight, which are simply unmissable for their incredible festive atmosphere.

During your time in Pezenas, you may also like to try the local culinary specialty, le petit pate de Pezenas, a small sweet yet spiced mutton pie shaped like a cotton reel, moist on the inside yet featuring a crispy golden brown pastry on the outside.

Pezenas is just one of the several charming rural towns you?ll be able to discover with us on your luxury family holidays. France doesn?t come much better than this, so book today!
