Indulge in Franceís famous cuisine during the Fete de la Gastronomie
08th September, 2016
On the last weekend of the summer, September 23-25,
locations all over France will be celebrating both their local and national
cuisines as part of the Fete de la Gastronomie.
Having first been established in 2011, the Fete de la
Gastronomie is a nationwide celebration thrown with passion and style. Each
edition is different, however, as the events centre around a key theme which
differs every year.
Last year, more than 2000 events across the country were
held for the Fete de la Gastronomie, with a similar amount also planned for
this yearís proceedings. It brings together not only local communities but also
visitors wishing to find out more about the several different cuisines found
One of the most common events you will find across the Fete
are a selection of special menus painstakingly devised by local chefs and
restaurants, on offer for the public to taste and experience. Not only do
visitors get to try some delicious local food, but they will also be able to
exchange ideas and recipes with their fellow food-lovers and maybe even gain
some insights from the chefs themselves.
These events also offer up the opportunity to learn about
the art of pairing, and how important it is to find the perfect wine
accompaniment. In France, itís almost a guarantee that good food is also paired
with a good wine, with chefs and restaurateurs on hand to offer their opinions
to get the most out of your evening meal.
If youíre staying at one of our luxury villas in France this
September, thereís no better way to learn more about the food on your plate
than at a Fete de la Gastronomie event!
