The Grand Pavois international nautical fair returns to La Rochelle

20th September, 2016
Returning later this month from September 28 until October 3, the Grand Pavois is an enormous international nautical fair that takes place in the waters of La Rochelle.

Located on the beautiful western coast, La Rochelle has been home to this event since 1973. The city’s Minimes Harbour encompasses more than 10,000 square metres of exhibition space, where more than 800 international exhibitors gather.

The show features exhibitors both large and small, with many of the smaller companies making the Grand Pavois the sole annual exhibition they appear at. Across the event there will be more than 750 boats on show, including 300 on the water, showing them in their full beauty and grandeur. The boats come from not only European companies but also exhibitors from across the world, representing more than 30 nations from South Africa to Venezuela, cementing the Grand Pavois’ status as a truly global nautical exhibition.

It is not only one of the largest boating events in France but it is also the biggest economic event in the Poitou-Charentes region, demonstrating just how popular boating is in this delightful coastal region of France. With 42 marinas across the region to choose from, La Rochelle and the surrounding Poitou-Charentes department may be the perfect place to visit if you’re thinking of enjoying a sailing holiday. If you decide to combine your visit with a stay in one of our luxury gites, France and its stunning blue waters are guaranteed not to disappoint!
