Get green-fingered at the Mimosalia Garden Fair

13th January, 2016
One of January?s main events in the Cote d?Azur is the Mimosalia Garden Fair, hosted in the aptly-named village Borme-les-Mimosas on the 30th and 31st January 2016.

The Fair, just a short distance from our St Tropez villas, is one of the village?s biggest events, and will see 70 exhibitors not only from the local region but from all over France gather to showcase established favourites as well as new innovations in the world of gardening. Now in its 20th year, the fair will feature two distinct areas - Park Cigalou and Place St Francis. Park Cigalou will play host to a huge variety of plants, ranging from beautiful mimosas to bonsai, with over 30 nurseries presenting hundreds of plant species and varieties, while Place St Francis will host everything related to garden decoration and furniture, from fountains to tools and pottery.

The fair is one of the best places to discover new plants, including rare plants and unusual varieties, with plenty more going on besides just the stalls. There will be a number of talks, allowing you to take in some expert guidance from some of France?s best botanists, as well as floral art contests and guided tours of Parc Gonzalez, which is the first park in Europe to be dedicated to Australian flora.
