Lonely Planet ‘First
time France: Where to Go and What to Do’

Lonely Planet is
a popular website for those looking for an extensive travel guide for the place
they are seeking to visit. With a group of fantastic writers, the posts on their website dive into detail about a destination giving you a different
perspective. One of our favourite posts was written by Nicola Williams, which
has great information and advice about your first trip to France:

“This strip of
seashore on the big blue Med has it all – hence half the world crowding it out
in summer. The seaside town of Nice is the Queen of the Riviera with its
cutting-edge art museums, belle époque architecture, pebble beaches and
legendary promenade. Glitzy day trips trail film stars in Cannes, Formula One
drivers in Monaco, and hobnobbing celebs ‘n’ socialites in St-Tropez.
Sensational coastal views make the drive along the three coastal roads from
Nice to Menton an absolute must. Otherwise, grab your hiking boots and stride
out in the fiery Massif de l’Estérel for brilliant red-rock mountain scenery.”

“The French
Riviera is one of those iconic areas that everyone should visit at least once
in their lifetime. Blessed with almost permanent sunshine, wonderful cuisine
and stunning coastline, it’s a seriously stylish place. Popular with royalty
from the 19th century onwards, it’s also beloved of artists, writers and

Bon Voyageurs ‘Nice,
France ~ My Kind of Town’

Bon Voyageurs is
a great travel blog run by Denis and Lynn Gagnon. They have been circling the
globe for more than 45 years, and this is shown through their detailed blog

“Nice is my kind
of town! One day in Nice was enough to sell me on the city. A boulangerie with
unbelievably fresh croissants and pains au chocolat as well as a small grocery
store with all our needs within a two minute walk of our apartment; there are
boulangeries and epiceries everywhere. The seven-kilometer long Promenade des
Anglais is a very wide stretch of paved walkway along the beach in downtown
Nice, and we found delightful to walk it; an ocean breeze helps make the very
hot sun (even though it was only 77 degrees Fahrenheit)  more tolerable. The beach is covered with
sunbathers and swimmers;  the town seems
to be filled with vacationers and seems to be well equipped to deal with them.  Just inside from the main road along the
beach, long streets, full of bistros, pizzerias, trattorias, brasseries, cafes,
restaurants by the dozens, each with their speciality, and all within a few minutes’

With such a
fantastic selection of blogs and plenty more out there, they will inspire you

before. Our luxury villas,
