Why Should You Book A Family Holiday With Quality Villas?
04th August, 2017
At Quality Villas, we are happy to cater for everyone who stays in our luxury villas, from couples on a romantic holiday to families of several generations on a fun family holiday. If you want to know more about the what a family holiday with Quality Villas would be like, we interviewed Hayley, our Marketing Manager who spoke of personal experience having a family holiday with our company, and take a look at the luxury villas in France, Italy and Morocco she mentions – you may just want to book it for a family holiday yourself!
What makes Quality Villas the perfect choice for family holidays?
Picture this: you drive through the gates of a villa you know will be yours, and yours alone, for your holiday. The children are a little bored after the journey (although booking one of our villas within an hour of an airport helps!). You take a quick tour of the villa, bring in the suitcases, open them up just enough to find the swimmies, all head down together to the pool … and jump! The stress disappears, you all have a giggle and a refreshing swim - and the best bit is you don’t have to share this moment with anyone. It’s all yours. No need to worry about splashing the person you don’t know, no need to worry about the pool closing, no need to worry about bumping into anyone .. if you do, well.. you know who the people are!
Quality Villas source unique villas in France, Italy and Morocco, each with their own distinct feel but the one shared theme in each and every villa we offer is the chance of a totally unique, one off, time all to yourselves villa holiday for your family.
What are the features Quality Villas offers for family’s other agencies don’t?
We take great care to tell you everything about the villa that we think will help you choose the right villa for your family. We do this by inspecting each and every villa. We tell you if there are drops in the garden, if the pool has no deep end, if the stairs are open tread - all pieces of information which help you decide if the villa is right for you. Many other villa websites do not do this as the only way you can offer this information is if you have seen the villa.
Which is your favourite family-oriented villa at Quality Villas?
Well, this is an impossible question as we represent many a fabulous family villa in France, Italy and Morocco. I will tell you about the family villa holidays I have taken.
Last May I did a two-centre holiday. One week at Bella Sul Lario at Lake Como with my husband, our then nine-year-old son and Mum. The second week, after a fabulous drive from Italy to France, we stayed at Le Pressoir on the Cote d’Azur just with my husband and son. Both were amazing. Bella Sul Lario had plenty to do for day trips, and boat trips on the lakes were great fun. Le Pressoir is inland enough to have great grounds for kids but close enough to so many hilltop villages for markets, great lunches and yet also near the coast for the water parks and beach! Location, Location, Location for families.
The year before we travelled to Marrakech with my husbands extended family. Villa Damali was perfect for a get together for 12 people. A huge pool with a shallow step for the little ones, a table tennis room for many tournaments and a tennis court. The icing on the cake was staying somewhere fully catered - truly our own boutique villa!
What are the most popular locations for families in France/Italy/Morocco?
We don’t source villas in any area which is not perfect for families. If you are an outdoorsy family then the South West of France is great - river kayaking being a firm favourite on the Dordogne river. A villa in Provence is ideal for some great hiking and white water rafting in the Gorge du Verdon. The Cote d’Azur has something for all ages from nightlife for the teenagers to theme parks for all. Biarritz for surfing fans on the Atlantic coast.
Marrakech is a great city to explore with kids. Wandering the souks and seeing the snake charmers is an eye opening, sensory explosion that the kids will love.
Italy? You’re spoiled for choice. Boating on the lakes, snorkelling in crystal clear waters in Puglia, exploring ancient ruins in Sicily or just kicking back in Tuscany with the occasional visit each day for pizza and fabulous meals in many an ancient village.
In what ways do Quality Villas cater for older generations?
Our villas range in sizes from ideal for two people to 35. Multi-generational villas cater for all ages, and our villas for a couple are great for a couple who want a place to relax and put their feet up or use as a bolt hole to explore the region. Villas with bedrooms on ground floors are ideal for clients who don’t like stairs. Whatever a client’s specific needs we can help find a villa to suit their needs.
What activities do you recommend for families who stay with Quality Villas/ looking to stay?
I would plan in some lazy days for sure. You have booked a great villa - enjoy some time doing nothing but being with your family - turn the phones off and ban the screens. A few days of good ol’fashioned play can be a great tonic for the whole family. Take the kids to the closest bakery each morning for fresh pastries each day. The local markets are great fun to go to and plan your night time meals. I taught my son how to eat oysters at the fish market in Gallipoli from a holiday at a Quality Villas Trulli in Puglia once. (Mine came with a great glass of prosecco!)
French, Italian and Moroccans all stay out later at night which is great fun for the whole family - walking through a packed Place Jemaa el-Fnaa in Marrakech, seeing the crazy night life in Juan les Pins or running around after a meal at the enclosed squares of many an ancient village, the later nights are a treat for the whole family. The Italians have a name for this called ‘passeggiata’.
What is the best thing about a holiday with family?
..and stop! Our lives are so busy these days. All of us racing along at a million miles an hour. A family holiday pulls us all together in one place with one sole focus - to enjoy yourself.
