The term 'something for everyone,' certainly applies to the small town of Jard-sur-Mer. Situated on the coast halfway between Les Sable d'Olonne and la Tranche-sur-Mer in south France, it has not only a traditional town, but a lovely port and beaches. The town itself is a joy to walk around and enjoy a glass of wine, or visit the daily market shopping for fresh local produce. The coastal area based around the port, is also a wonderful place to stroll. With plenty of bars and restaurants, take time out to watch the boats come and go. With a few small beaches near the harbour, it's the perfect place to cool off for all the family. Larger ones nearby include The Plage de la Mine. For a more peaceful walk, there are numerous trails set amongst the surrounding expansive forest. You can even go in search of the Abbey, Notre-Dame-de-Lieu-Dieu, which was founded by Richard The Lionheart.
