Built in the 18th/19th centuries around an enclosed stone courtyard, this restored Loire farmhouse with private pool was the original home farm of the neighbouring chateau, set in the heart of the Brenne regional park in deepest rural France. The house itself is known locally as 'the hunting ground of the buzzard', indicative of the wealth of wildlife in this area.

It has been lovingly restored, retaining many original features to create a traditional farmhouse ambience with up-to-the-minute facilities. This Loire farmhouse is located in the south of Indre, just north of Limousin; this region is internationally renowned for bird watching with more than 1000 lakes. Wild game abounds from red and roe deer, to wild boar. The picturesque old country towns of Argenton-sur-Creuse and Le Blanc lie to the east and west of the property and offer a variety of shops and restaurants. Just 10 miles away is the ' Maison du Parc' at Le Bouchet near Rosney.

The dramatic river Creuse was a disputed border between the English and French during the 100 Years War, thus many castles and places of historical interest are to be found along its banks. Nowadays the river is used for the more leisurely pursuits of canoeing or horseriding! Chateauroux is 25 miles away whilst Poitiers is only an hour's drive from this restored Loire farmhouse with private pool.

  • We have visited Ferme de Campagne for 4 years

    Mrs E

We have visited Ferme de Campagne for the last four years in July and August and have found it to be a wonderful location for a family holiday ( we have two boys aged 11 and 8). The villa is in a rural location just outside Scoury located amongst farmers fields and tracks which lead to fantastic walks and cycling for the entire family. The house is a typical French farmhouse and exudes the characteristics of a rustic dwelling in the country. The outside space is fabulous, great pool area and covered area for eating and enjoying the garden whilst keeping out of the mid day sun. The house is very spacious and tastefully decorated. Given its size and high ceilings there can be the odd cobweb but this only adds to the character. There is endless hot water here, it's a struggle to get the kids out of the shower sometime! We always use the bikes when we come mostly to cycle the tracks close to the house. The house and its contents are generally well maintained a few updates would be welcomed but these don't detract from the charm of the property. The local caretakers are extremely welcoming and helpful. My youngest son says Ferme de Campagne is his favourite place. I think that says it all...

  • Lovely, peaceful location

    L Howard

Lovely, peaceful location - great for children and adults alike.

  • A lovely farmhouse

    Mr and Mrs Murdoch

A lovely farmhouse, bright and airy and a wonderful relaxing place for a family holiday. It would be better perhaps if the garden was gated off from the farm track to be more child friendly.

  • The service offered by Quality Villas is excellent

    C Furlong

The service offered by Quality Villas is excellent - very helpful, informative, and even called us to wish us a safe journey etc. The accommodation was amazing - very idyllic and just what we wanted. Having the bbq was a huge plus as we used it every single night! Will definitely be using this holiday company again - Morocco looks appealing!

  • Superb holiday

    G Attwater

One of the three plastic loungers had a broken arm on arrival, this was pointed out to the caretaker. A small quibble, really, concerning what wasis undeniably a superb holiday property.

  • We had a really great holiday

We had a really great holiday & thoroughly enjoyed every minute, none of us, including 2 teenagers, wanted to come home.
