Glamorous Cannes, renowned for its world-famous film festival, was once a small fishing village. Now it’s a stylish resort with something for everyone. First, take a walk along the palm tree-lined Promenade de la Croisette. La Croisette with its photogenic beach, plush restaurants, cool cafes and of course luxury boutiques. Stroll through the cobbled streets of the old town, and people watch - a fantastic way to spend time in this luxury seaside resort, or visit the covered market (Marché Forville) for a truly spectacular gourmet experience and admire the yachts of the rich and famous port side. There’s also plenty of museums to visit, a beach, a playground for children, and of course if you have money to spare there are three casinos. And if you are there when the Cannes Film Festival is on, take a seat on the steps of the Palais des Festivals to catch sight of a film star or two.
