Description

From its privileged position between Nice and Villefranche-sur-Mer, this air conditioned Mediterranean villa enjoys striking views across the Baie des Anges and the Gulf of Villefranche. A few minutes’ walk takes you to the local Carrefour, pizzeria and the coastal path.  Local bus and train connections ensure a hassle-free way to explore both the French and the Italian Rivieras.

Built in 1906, this beautiful villa retains much of its Belle Epoque charm and elegance combined with all modern comforts. The uninterrupted view over the Mediterranean sea and St Jean Cap Ferrat peninsula provides a stunning backdrop to your morning breakfast, afternoon tea or dinners al fresco on the marvelous terrace! And when the temperature rises, a dip in the plunge pool is the perfect way to cool down.

With the option of local buses nearby and the train station in Villefranche you can easily reach the top Riviera destinations such as Cannes, Nice, Monte Carlo, Menton, and even Ventimiglia, just across the Italian border, famed for its fabulous Friday market.  Villefranche markets are Wednesday and Friday and the huge Old Nice antique market is every Monday. Other local attractions include Eze with the historic La Turbie monument from St Augustus, St Paul de Vence, Matisse's and Jean Cocteau's chapels and museums.  Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild, mentioned in the Hare with the Amber Eyes and Villa Kerylos, beside David Niven's former villa, are a must and there are coves and beaches to explore along the way, as well as plenty of opportunities for shopping.

  • Belle Epoque Bliss

    Allan & Betty

No disappointments here! We spent a lovely week at Belle Epoque, April 2019. Perfect location. Superb views. All the amenities one could wish for. An easy bus ride to Nice, Villefranche-sur-Mer, and Monaco. Prepare your own meals in the well equipped kitchen, walk the sea path for amazing views over the Mediterranean, or cozy up for a good read. This is as good as it gets in a holiday rental!

    Daniel Roberts

This villa has everything - charm, atmosphere, comfort, style, location and one of the most spectacular positions on the Cap de Nice. We stayed for six nights and left wishing it had been many more. Nice is but a romantic sea walk away, and Villefranche - with its harbour side eateries - a mere stroll down the hill. Our stay was in early December, and the weather was beautiful - blue skies and, during the day, warm enough to eat on the terrace. In the evenings, the cosy living area, complete with a fantastic grand piano, was the perfect place to unwind. And don’t miss the jacuzzi bath with views down the coast. Highly recommended!

  • Truly Belle Epoque

The villa is exquisite, the view sublime and the location charming. From the villa, you have the choice to go west to Nice and all it has to offer, east to Villefranche-sur-Mer and the other lovely villages on the sea or up the hill behind the villa to Mount Boron. So much to see and do. And then when you are back at the villa you have the nearby shops and restaurants , or can stay in the villa with the amazing view over the Mediterranean. Our entire family wants to go back to visit.

  • Peaceful, stylish house in a great location

    Christian

We spent a week in sping ‘17 at Villa La Belle Époque, which is aptly named! It is a spacious, restful house with a superb view and super stylish decor. Perched between. Villefranche and Nice, the house is ideally located to enjoy the restaurants and nightlife nearby, or simply to relax in the lovely living room, or swim at the beach, or catch the tennis at Monaco. The villa is well set up whatever your idea of relaxation , and you will want to return!

  • Perfect R&R

    Liz

We had such an enjoyable, relaxing stay at La Belle Époque. The view out to sea while lying in bed upstairs in the master bedroom is blissful. We did plenty of our own cooking in the well-equipped kitchen but also enjoyed being able to nip down to the local restaurant for fantastic pizzas. It’s a good walk or an easy bus journey into both Nice and Villefranche - we didn’t need a car at all. Even took the bus to Monaco one day and watched the tennis. Hope to go back again to explore the area further and to have another long soak in that amazing bathtub while watching the lights come on across the bay.
