Perched on a rocky plateau against a backdrop of verdant hills from the Puy de Tourette, is the lovely medieval town of Tourettes Sur Loup. Perfectly located between Vence and Grasse, lovely day trips are easy to find from this lovely fortified town. Driving in from Vence, you’ll find a nice little park with a shady area where children can have a good run around. Strolling through the village itself, a meander around the Grand Rue is highly recommended, and passing through the arched passage of Portail Neuf, will take you down the rocky spine of the village for exceptional views out to forested hills and sea. With some wonderful restaurants, wine cellars and bars in and around Tourettes Sur Loup, and nearby Grasse and Vence, you’ll be spoilt for choice. Known for its Bigaradier orange trees (a small bitter orange used to make jams and liqueurs), trying the celebrated tarte a l’orange is a must whilst in the area.
