The pretty bay of Villefranche in the heart of the Cote d’Azur, southern France, is quite beautiful. Embraced by the Cap of Nice on one side and Cap Ferret on the left, the traditional fishing village of Villefranche has managed to retain its authenticity and charm despite its glitzy neighbours and is perfectly placed to make the most of the world-renowned French Riviera. Home to a deep water harbour, you will see boats cruise in and out on their trips to nearby Monaco and Eze village. Attracting the jet set in their droves, it’s a fascinating place to sit and people watch. You may even see local resident, singer Tina Turner, wandering by. Make the most of the beach featuring terrace cafes and seafood restaurants, and stroll around the cobbled streets in the village itself. Although Villefranche-Sur-Mer is a busy town, you can find peaceful, shady squares to relax in and watch the villagers going about their daily life.
