Southern France villa with pool - Tucked away in a residential area at the edge of Alignan-du-Vent, within walking distance of the village shops, cafes and weekly market, this beautifully maintained family villa lies at the very heart of the Languedoc-Roussillon, a region of Southern France renowned for its vineyards, Medieval towns and long sandy beaches. This villa is cheerful and welcoming, with large open-plan areas designed for social gatherings and comfortable living. The long covered terrace overlooking the garden and pool area is a marvellous feature of this property, where guests can relax and enjoy the ample outdoor space.

An array of palm trees, oleanders, olive trees and lavender bushes help create a lovely Mediterranean feel with the addition of fig, apricot and peach trees providing a seasonal bounty for clients to enjoy. The location of Villa Jordanne allows for interesting tours of this fascinating region all within a short drive. The village of Alignan-du-Vent is lovely; surrounded by vineyards it has a twice-weekly market selling local produce, including an exquisite wine. It is particularly renowned for the Brasucade Fete, offering tourists the opportunity to dance, eat and drink free wine provided by the local growers every Friday throughout the summer months.

Within just half-an-hour's drive is the beautiful Languedoc coastline encompassing numerous blue-flag sandy beaches, a famous Water Park in Cap d'Agde, endless opportunities to practise windsurfing, scuba diving and other water sports. Why not visit the lake of Etang-de-Thau by boat, with its oyster and mussel beds and pink flamingos. Pezenas is the nearest town to Villa Jordanne and is a real festival town, with so much going on, including a very famous Saturday market. Further afield are the splendid historical towns of Montpellier, Sete, Carcassonne and Aigues Mortes all well worth visiting if you want to experience the real feel of the Languedoc-Roussillon.

Insider Tips

The beauty of this villa is that you can walk into the village easily for your morning baguette and croissants from the bakery and to the twice-weekly market. Pezenas is definitely a must to visit with its brocante shops, restaurants, first class market and much more. The coastline here is lovely with long sandy beaches, water parks and so many vineyards to sample excellent Languedoc wine. I never cease to enjoy visiting this gorgeous region.
