The large town of Entraigues-sur-la-Sorgue, situated in the Vaucluse region in southeastern France, really does have it all. Aside from being a pretty town with meandering historic streets, still surrounded by a few remains of 14th and 16th century walls, it is close enough to the Mediterranean for wonderful trips out to the beach. You won’t be able to miss the Tower of the Templars. At 30m high, you’ll be rewarded with panoramic views of Mont Ventoux and the Dentelles de Montmirail from its peak. And on a Wednesday, be sure to visit the typical Provencal market. Walking around Entraigues sur La Sorgue, taking in the historical sites, and enjoying a coffee or two is a pleasure. But, if you want to venture further afield, the city of Avignon and prominentt city of Vaucluse brimming with museums, shops and restaurants are nearby. And for a lovely country walk, just step out into the surrounding countryside for a taste of pure Provencal heaven.
