Are you longing to explore the stunning region of Provence? The pretty medieval village of Flayosc could be just the place to do it. Standing atop a small hill, situated between the Gorges du Verdon and the Cote d'Azur, it’s surrounded by Provencal vineyards, oak forests and olive trees. And, in the village, make the most of the lovely shady squares with fountains, historic churches and ample terraces to sit and enjoy your coffee or local wine. Meander down the narrow streets and admire the pastel-coloured buildings and ancient sites, such as the 11th-century church where you'll catch panoramic views from its splendid bellower. As with many of the villages in Provence, Flayosc has a wonderful market every Monday morning selling fresh local produce, but there's also plenty of shops including bakeries, butchers, grocers and a delightful delicatessen. Look out for events during the year - antique markets, concerts and fetes to name a few.
