A lovely Provencal town set in the magnificent Luberon National Park of South France, La Tour d’Aigues is perfectly located to make the most of its surroundings. Cultivated fields and vineyards encircle it, and walking, hiking and cycling along the banks of the River Eze and through the spectacular Luberon Park is highly recommended. In the town itself, you’ll find the magnificent Renaissance chateau. Complete with splendid Renaissance décor, a gateway which is said to be one of the most beautiful in Provence, and surrounded by a dry moat, it’s an absolute must-see. Entering it, your children will delight in hearing their footsteps echo around the old stone building, and there’s a lovely museum in the cellar exhibiting earthenware found during its restoration. If you’re fortunate enough to be there in the summer, be sure to visit the South Luberon theatre, music and dance festival held at the Chateau for an unforgettable experience.
