Lorgues holiday villa with pool : Bastide du Charme is a delightful old stone built property set amid 27 acres of idyllic vineyards, olive trees and forest. It has been tastefully restored to combine modern convenience and quaint charm.

The nearest village of St Antonin du Var has a small supermarket and baker; the larger, bustling and colourful village of Lorgues with its attractive medieval quarter holds one of the major markets in the region every Tuesday, and is home to the famous ' Bruno' truffle restaurant. There are many stunning towns and villages within 20 to 40 mins drive, such as Tourtour, known as the 'village in the sky', Entrecasteaux with its marvellous chateau and gardens, Villecroze and Salernes, which is famous for its pottery.

The spectacular Gorge du Verdon is within an hours' drive for hiking, mountain biking, rock climbing, kayaking and white water rafting, or just to enjoy the breathtaking scenery and a day by Lac St. Croix. The beautiful university town of Aix-en-Provence is also an easy hour's drive. For golf villas in south of France, enthusiasts will be pleased to note there are two 18-hole golf courses within 30 minutes.

“ You couldn’t wish for a more typical Provencal experience, a very easy-living house, perfect for getting away from it all yet near to the small village of St Antonin du Var where there is a charming little supermarket run by the lovely Danielle, who can supply you with most of what you will need during your stay. She also runs the bakery next door. If you are a lover of wine there are many estates within the village such as Domaine de Sarrins, Les Clos d’Alaris and Domaine des Pres, to name just  a few. During the summer, the village of St Antonin also offers several fun events for children and adults alike. There is also a tennis court in the village: the key is kept in the local bar. Your nearest larger village 10 minutes away is Lorgues: its famous large Tuesday market is a must, and of course here you have the big supermarkets, banks, a couple of pharmacies and several restaurants - one of my favourites being La Table de Paul on the main street. • We had a wonderful week in the villa.

    Mrs E Hurrell

We had a wonderful week in the villa. It was the perfect size for us with lovely furnishings, a great pool and amazing views down and across the valley with sunsets to die for. The kitchen was brilliantly equipped and sitting outside for meals/drinks with two different options was a joy. Our trip to the Lake and the Gorge were amazing too and you are surrounded by vineyards and endless attractive towns and villages. We would love to go back.

  • We loved the Bastide du Charme

    Sandra Clayton

We loved the Bastide du Charme. It's the perfect place for a relaxed holiday. Large rooms and well equipped kitchen. Great pool and extensive grounds full of olive trees. Plenty of loungers and a hammock to lounge in. A car is a must, masses of markets and villages to visit. The brasserie in the village serves authentic Provencal food and the owners are fun as well as attentive. The plat du jour at mid-day is Good value. The guardians were kind and efficient; the hot water went off and they fixed it immediately.

  • The beauty of this villa exceeded our expectations

    Monika Burles

The beauty of this villa exceeded our expectations. The privacy and setting with wonderful panoramic views across wooded hills would be hard to beat. Similarly the exquisite taste and attention to detail in the interior were a pleasant surprise. The owners' artworks and all furnishings are extremely sensitively chosen, and make this house feel like a home. We would fully recommend this property to anyone who appreciates the finer things in life.
