Located between the Baux de Provence and Maussane les Alpilles, amongst fields of olive groves, almond trees, and heavenly pine forests, lies the petite village of Paradou. For such a small village in the Bouches-du-Rhone region of southern France, it has a lot to offer. Aside from strolling along narrow streets bordered by pretty houses with colourful shutters and well-kept gardens, there are lovely Provencal restaurants and boutique shops to explore. Then there’s the unique musesum – Le Petite Provence du Paradou – home to 400 clay figurines (santons) showcasing a true-to-life Provencal village. At the base of the Baux de Provence, you can see visit the remains of a 12th century castle, and if you want to go exploring, small nearby towns include historic Nimes and Baux de provence. A little further you’ll find the elegant city of Marseilles.
