Vacation home Provence near Avignon – Tucked away in the very heart of Provence, Les Jonquilles is a small, charming vacation villa with a beautiful mature garden and pool, and lovely views over the surrounding countryside and Les Alpilles hills.
Built in a traditional Provencal style, this property is ideal for a family wishing to enjoy a tranquil and relaxing holiday, with plenty of outdoor space, a sizeable salt-water swimming pool and a useful summer kitchen for preparing barbecues and meals in a lovely setting. A large pergola just outside the living room adds further character to this villa and would make the perfect spot for long relaxing breakfasts.
A few minutes’ drive away is the lively village of St Rémy, where you can easily do your daily shopping and eat out in one of the excellent local restaurants. The entire region around St Rémy is rich in history and art. Van Gogh painted many of his most famous pictures here. A little further north of Les Jonquilles is the splendid walled city of Avignon, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which boasts the gothic Palace of the Popes, a wonder not to be missed. Awe-inspiring Roman buildings and ruins are scattered everywhere in this Ancient Roman Province: the impressive triple-tiered aqueduct of the Pont du Gard and the massive arena in Arles are certainly worth a visit. Further west, under an hour’s drive from this villa, is the Camargue National Park, a fascinating wetland known for its pink flamingos, fighting bulls and wild horses, and which offers opportunities for hiking, cycling and horse-riding.
“A perfect little house in a great location for exploring the area around St Rémy and the other villages. The village itself has got all the shops you need such as bakeries, supermarkets, bars and you are really spoilt for choice when it comes to restaurants. One of my favourites is Le Bistrot des Alpilles on the Boulevard Mirabeau or Grain de Sel, on the same street, for a cool later breakfast or lunch a la Carte. Here you should try some homemade foie gras with onion marmalade. On Wednesdays and Saturdays you can’t miss the grand street markets.”

all enjoyed their holiday!
The path up to it is a bit tricky (narrow, dusty and bumpy) but it's worth it. The villa is in the middle of large, well-maintained plot over-looking the Alpilles, which are especially beautiful in the evening. The pool is lovely; the kitchen is well-equipped; and the decor is tastefully provencal. St Remy is reachable on foot in 15 minutes and the supermarket and parapharmacie are a 5 minute drive. 2 adults, 1 teenager, and 2 children all enjoyed their holiday!
we would definitely come to you again

I am very pleased to say that we had a wholly positive experience with Quality Villas - we would definitely come to you again, and probably treat ourselves to another stay at Les Jonquilles!
I had dealings by email, text and phone with your colleagues Federica and Pip, and of course with Angeline at the villa itself, and all were efficient, helpful and reliable. We had some travel difficulties on the outward leg and you were constantly contactable, helpful and sympathetic. We had no subsequent problems whilst in France but we had great confidence that there would have been support for us if so.
Les Jonquilles was exactly as described and we were delighted by our stay there. The villa was beautiful, comfortable and well equipped and everything worked as it should; the pool was great and we found that using the retractable cover, as recommended, really kept the warmth in it from one day to the next. The short unpaved road to reach the villa was no problem and the setting was lovely; very quiet and private, with fantastic views of the Alpilles. The garden was the best we have ever seen at a holiday property. We were not previously familiar with that part of Provence but we thought that St Remy is an excellent base, as well as being a lovely town in itself, with great facilities.
