Chosen by The Times ' 50 best mediterranean Villas in France' for 2018,  this beach villa at Ramatuele in the south of France is just a short walk from the lovely sandy L'Escalet beach and tucked away in a quiet residential area, Villa de la Plage offers an ideal solution for those seeking an easy-going, relaxed beach holiday. It is furnished for easy summer living and set in beautiful mature gardens with a lovely pool overlooking the sea.  

The accommodation is arranged across the main house and annex enabling friends and families to enjoy each other's company whilst benefitting from a measure of privacy.  The delightful, mature garden provides a pleasant place to unwind surrounded by trees, shrubs and flowers. Additionally, the outdoor dining terrace overlooks the pool and faces the sea: ideal for long lazy meals before or after time spent at the beach, which is just a stroll away down the lane.

Proximity to the long sandy beaches of the French Riviera is undoubtedly the highlight of any holiday here, and if you should want a change from L'Escalet beach and the Cabane Bambou and Tropicana beach club restaurants, famous Pampelonne is less than 2 miles from this L'Escalet beach villa south of France.

Locally there is a small supermarket a very convenient 1.5 miles from the villa. The charming old village of Ramatuelle with its excellent selection of restaurants and summer music festival is less than four miles away, and lively St Tropez with its quayside cafés, restaurants, markets, art galleries and atmospheric old town just six miles.

Minimum 2-week rentals in July and August

If your main priority is proximity to the beach - L'Escalet beach is an easy stroll from this villa - then Villa de la Plage should be on your shortlist. Just a short drive away you will also find Cabane Bambou and Tropicana, Pampelonne beach with its famous restaurants such as Club 55, Nikki beach and Nioulargo beach. The villa itself is open-plan and airy, and simply furnished in neutral shades. The large pool is right in front of the house and there is a fantastic, fully-equipped pool house. The village of Ramatuelle three miles away offers an excellent choice of restaurants of all types: there is a charming local market once a week here too. The village does get busy in the summer with its popular annual festival, which is a really special event. The twice-weekly markets in St Tropez are a must: it is held in the main square, Place des Lices, under the shade of the plane trees and there are stalls selling a wide range of items from local foods to cashmere sweaters, but do get there early. And you can round off the morning with a drink at one of the trendy quayside bars like Senequier and watch the amazing yachts!
