If youíve come across a little coastal village with cute white houses and distinctive red roofs in the Aquitaine region of south-western France, youíve probably arrived in Bidart. Not far from the large town of Biarritz, Bidart offers a lot slower pace. Full of charm, itís a traditional village very much focused on the ocean, which it overlooks. Most of the beaches can be found at the base of the cliff, where you can enjoy a number of watersports or just a spot of sunbathing. But, there are two other beaches, the Plage d'Ilbarritz and Plage de l'Uhabia. This pretty little village has retained a lot of its authenticity, and the architecture is principally Basque. Be sure to appreciate these special little houses when the sunís shining, the view is wonderful. Want to get out and explore? Anglet and Saint Jean de Luz are nearby.
