Lalinde is quite simply a treat. Located on the banks of the Dordogne River, in south west France, itís a beautiful old medieval town with much to do. Behind its fortified walls lays a town of half-timbered buildings, original gates, and even a small lake. Head towards the romantic Renaissance Tourist Office. The buildings there are beautiful, and thereís a small park to sit and contemplate the river and grand bridge. Here you wonít be short of a wonderful meal. Apart from the fine restaurants, cafes and bars in the town, there are chateaus nearby serving sumptuous suppers, and Michelin-star rated restaurants. For an al fresco experience, take a picnic and head over to the lake in the middle of town for a relaxing bite to eat. Lalindeís market on a Thursday morning is quite special. Bursting with local produce from oysters and fresh fish to truffles and mushrooms, sourced from the local forests, thereís also pottery and crafts.
