Riberac, set in the Dronne valley, is the perfect place to explore the beautiful countryside of the Northern Dordogne region, but also the perfect setting to soak up the French way of life. Sit at one of the café terraces and watch the locals go about their day, although it might get a bit busier on a Friday. Boasting one of the biggest markets in the region, the variety of produce on offer is quite astounding – selling everything from courgettes to straw hats, and has a fantastic atmosphere. In and around the town there are a couple of lovely churches including the Eglise Notre-Dame and the 12th century Collegiale Notre-Dame, and outside of town visit the nearby forest ‘Foret de la Double’ dotted with lakes and hamlets, and the pretty village of Lusignac. The views all around Riberac are quite breathtaking.
