This charming, romantic holiday gite enjoys a rural setting amid plum orchards and a working fruit farm in the Lot et Garonne. Furnished in a mixture of American and French styles and well equipped, the thick walls built in local stone provide a cool summer escape, ideal for couples and small families.
A 10 minute stroll from this romantic holiday cottage brings you to the small village of St Maurin which hosts a great night market during July and August, and has a local restaurant and post office. However, please note that the walk, although pleasant, is along an unpaved road. Nearby Castelsagrat offers more amenities, and Valence d'Agen has a fabulous Tuesday market selling excellent local produce. Continue on from Valence to Moissac to visit its Romanesque abbey and cloisters, or head to the large town of Agen with its fashionable shops and Parc Walabi for a day out that is popular with adults and children alike. Cahors, with its famous medieval bridge, its old district with market and cathedral, and its relaxing pavement cafés, is another great destination for a straightforward day trip.
Situated between Bordeaux and Toulouse, the Lot et Garonne region experiences a warm, dry climate and is characterised by warm weather in autumn, which is an ideal time to visit this romantic holiday cottage. A holiday in this part of the country will give you a real taste of authentic France.

Even though this property only sleeps 4 the pool area is great. Client’s comments include “what a wonderful large pool and sunshine all day”. Nearby village has a very good night market in July & August and is a must! This popular house does get booked up quickly, and you can see why. Les Pruniers is typical of the region and excellently priced. There is an excellent caretaker who ensures the guests have a great holiday!”
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Les Pruniers exceeded expectations - comfortable attractive bedrooms, the kitchen reasonably well stocked with cooking utensils etc., the main room much more pleasant than the photo on your website had led us to believe. The arrangement of the pool in the ruined remains of a barn was really excellent – providing a pool without damaging the placid, rural view. The location was ideal for us and very peaceful. Only very minor quibbles: it would have been welcome to have a few deckchairs or similar to sit out comfortably in the garden shade after lunch, a better plug in the bathroom and measuring cups in the kitchen. You might also mention on the website that, although there is no air con, there are fans in both bedrooms; that would have saved us packing our own. These, though, are small points. It is a lovely cottage in a lovely position. We thoroughly enjoyed it and are very satisfied customers.
We really enjoyed our holiday at Les Pruniers.
We really enjoyed our holiday at Les Pruniers. The pool and gardens are fantastic, very close to some pretty towns and villages. We loved our fortnight at Les Pruniers and would highly recommend it.
Well equipped with everything we needed
We would have welcomed more detail on what there is to see and do in the surrounding area and comments on the best places to visit. We found lots of lovely events sometimes by accident and we could have missed them if it were not for our daily cycle ride to explore.
The villa is in a lovely setting within the garden of the main house which is not occupied when Les Pruniers has guests. The villa had lots of character, was well equipped with everything we needed and the local representative was so helpful. The village is a short cycle ride or good walk away and there is lots to do and see in the villages and towns around the area. We would certainly recommend it to anyone wanting a quiet holiday in a lovely rural setting.
We liked the look of the property and its location
We really liked the property. It was very comfortable and well equipped and in a very quiet location. The pool was in a beautiful setting and there was a good market in the nearest town. The Quality Villas representative was very helpful.
A delightful property set amongst the fields made for a relaxing holiday with walks in the surrounding countryside. a good base for exploring. Well maintained and everything catered for.
a fantastic time
Just wanted to say that we had a fantastic time at Les Pruniers and I would recommend your company to anyone and we will be using you again.
The property was better than anticipated
We thought the property was better than pictures and description in brochure would show. The local rep. was extremely helpful and friendly. One very minor point: check in on arrival is at 5pm and check out is at 9.30am. A midday check out would be better.
