“ This is a beautiful property situated in the heart of a quintessential French village, in one of the most interesting regions in South West France. I recommend visits to Figeac, especially on Saturday for the farmers' market, the unique pilgrim site of Rocamadour, Gouffres de Padairac, Peche Merle and the Lascaux caves for great pre-historical days out. Kayaking at Vayrac, horse-riding in Gramat and a visit to the Monday market at Assier is a must. There are many varied restaurants in the local area to suit all tastes. A chef to cook for you at the villa can be arranged if you would rather stay home and relax! ”
as our time at the house draws to a close I just have to say how much my family have enjoyed our stay. It is so well set up for relaxation and enjoyment for the whole family . We have explored the region by car, had meals out and also loved being by the pool, playing chess, pool, watching movies, soccer, cooking and eating in the 'cave ' . All in all a memorable time in this beautiful part of the world. Thanks for giving us the opportunity to enjoy your beautiful home away from home.
A beautiful property
A beautiful property, sympathetically restored with excellent modern touches We were 3 generations having a family get together. There was plenty of space for everyone and the property worked and was easy from the minute we all arrived. Beds very comfortable. All beautifully clean and lovely bathrooms. Plenty of room for anyone wishing to have a quiet time. A very relaxing place altogether. (Review shared with Quality Villas from the villa Owners guest book)
We loved staying
We loved staying The house offered everything we needed for a fabulous stay in the Le Lot and Dordogne regions of France. The house is spacious and well-appointed, and accommodated our family of nine, including three children, and six adults. The perfect place to celebrate a family milestone. We cooked here every night, and the kitchen is well-stocked to produce wonderful meals from the many local food products available at the farmers' markets and artisanal groceries. Great wine, and the house offered a fine dining atmosphere with big tables for seating all of us to share our meals. The beds were amazingly comfortable. Plenty of room for all of us, and all the various ages of our family. (Review shared with Quality Villas from the villa Owners guest book)
The pool was excellent for the grandchildren.
Excellent property The house was very comfortable. The pool was excellent for the grandchildren. The surrounding area fascinating. The home was very comfortable for our party of 7 adults and 2 children. The bedrooms large, the beds comfortable, abundant dining areas inside and out. The nearby villages have good supermarkets etc with a good pizza place about 1 km away. Good TV fridges washers dish washers etc. (Review shared with Quality Villas from the villa Owners guest book)
The property itself is truly first class.
Phillipe, the property manager, greeted us as arranged, showed us around the beautiful house and its many, wonderful features and explained everything we needed to know for our stay. The property itself is truly first class. The pictures really do not do justice to the sheer size and space available for our family of 12. There are so many thoughtful features to accommodate all sorts of ages and interests from the games room for our teenagers to the vast collection of dvds for our younger children when they needed a rest from the pool! All of the bedrooms are extremely spacious and comfortable with en-suites and bathrooms that easily accommodated our large party. The many different living areas were perfect for people to find their own quiet space, including a wonderful outside terrace with numerous seating, parasols and loungers. Details such as a filled 'beer fridge', which you were simply asked to re-fill like for like, was a super idea and enabled us to settle in and enjoy the property straight away. The area itself has so many things to offer. Our family, ranging from 10 to 71, spend a wonderful day canoeing along the Dordogne and we visited many attractions and local towns. We found a great pizzeria in Figeac and lovely restaurants in Gramat and Martel. There is also a fantastic pizzeria take-away just down the road from the house which provided us with a break from cooking on a couple of occasions! All in all, we had a wonderful stay and were very sorry to leave. The house is superb for a large party and we couldn't recommend it enough. I had a lovely time at La Dame du Causse
I had a lovely time at La Dame du Causse, which is a stunning manor house exquisitely furnished with a blend of traditional and contemporary décor. I loved exploring every corner of this grand property so full of character and charm. I particularly enjoyed the spacious bedrooms with superb views over the picturesque hamlet of Le Bourg, the elegant designer bathrooms and state-of-the-art kitchen which opened onto a marvellous terrace overlooking the pool. It was hard to leave this place as it was equipped with everything one may wish for; from the well stocked library (I even found an Italian book by Dante, my favourite author!) and the wine cellar, to the billiard room and games room. Despite being spacious and grand, this villa has a distinctive intimate and cosy feel to it. A few minutes’ drive takes you to the historic town of Figeac where I spent a very enjoyable evening at the riverside restaurant Le Pont d’Or – highly recommended. Finally, the caretaker was very helpful during our stay and provided us with all the information we needed. I would love to go back one day to explore more of this wonderful region.
