Found at the tip of the Sorrento peninsula, in the Campania region of southern Italy, is the peaceful town of Massa Lubrense. With a small town centre and many hamlets joined by a network of paths, it's a pleasure to walk around. A lot more peaceful than nearby Sorrento, it's still within easy reach of Positano, Pompeii, Amalfi and of course Sorrento itself. There are several trails through the gorgeous countryside full of lemon and olive trees, citrus groves and vineyards. The classical walk is in the triangular points of Termini, Monte San Constanzo and Punta Campanella with panoramic views of the Gulfs of Naples and Salerno, and a stunning view of the Island of Capri In the area are two 16th-century churches, one with a fantastic Majolica floor, and a cathedral with stunning marble altars. The fertile hills produce some wonderful cheeses, olive oils and fruits, all of which can be found in some of the fantastic restaurants in Massa Lubrense, several of which are thought of as the best in Campania.
