Serving as a gateway to the lush Circeo National Park, San Felice Circeo is a wonderful seaside resort in the Lazio region of central Italy. Residing at the foot of Mount Circeo, this splendid town has a fantastic medieval centre, stylish shops and a selection of fine Italian restaurants. There’s also a few historic sites including The Torre dei Cavalieri and the Palazzo Baronale. Views from the Piazza del Belvedere are simply stunning. Once you’ve feasted on these ancient delights, make your way down to the beach for a spot of sunbathing, a delicious gelato or a go at windsurfing. The coastline is breathtaking. Then, take a walk around the celebrated Circeo National Park. Stretching from Anzio to Terracina, including forest and islands, it’s the only national park in Italy to occupy a plain and coastal land. Be sure to visit some of the nearby caves and grottoes. In 1939, the skull of a Neanderthal man was found in the Guattari cave. San Felice Circeo really is a hidden gem.
