Set on a steep hill is one of the wealthiest cities in Tuscany, the extraordinary city of Arezzo. Take the Basilica di San Francesco, with its incredible Renaissance fresco cycle by Piero della Francesca – just wonderful. Visit the Piazza Grande. Make sure you’re there to visit the celebrated antiques fair. Held on the first Sunday of each month, it hosts over 500 exhibitors selling everything from Roman coins to grandfather clocks. And, if you do miss it, don’t worry, Arezzo is full of antique shops for you to explore at your leisure. Whilst in Arezzo be sure to try its most famous dishes - Acquacotta, a bread soup made with porcini mushrooms.
