Tuscany Luxury vacation villa – Surrounded by extensive grounds deep in the heart of the splendid Pistoia countryside. La Verdeggiante is a beautiful, newly-built recreation of a traditional Tuscan villa. Artisan craftsmen have lovingly created every detail which gives this villa such authenticity, from the beautifully decorated, high wooden ceilings and frescoed walls to the terracotta floors, brick archways and large open fireplaces.

Ideal for larger groups, the accommodation is split between a main villa and two separate cottages, all finished to the same exacting standards. The large pool is close by with a wonderful pergola providing shade. Within the extensive idyllic gardens is an award-winning vegetable garden which provides organic produce which guests are invited to sample during their stay. A little further on, beyond the lush Mediterranean garden rich in scented shrubs and colourful flowers, lie 1500m of hiking trails which criss-cross the surrounding woodland and await exploration on foot or by bike.

In this area of Tuscany you will be spoilt for choice for things to do: from wine and oil tasting tours to horse riding; visits to some of Italy's most spectacular towns such as Florence, Lucca, Pisa and Pistoia, to days spent at the seaside along the sandy beaches of the Versilia coast. Small picturesque villages nearby often host local food fairs (sagre) and lively weekly markets. Why not treat yourself to a regenerating spa treatment at nearby Montecatini Terme or Monsummano Terme, where ancient hot-water springs will help you relax and rejuvenate.

“ Fabulous villa in the heart of Tuscany, only 20 or so miles from airports in Florence and Pisa, this villa is situated near the most fabulous Italian cities: Florence, Luca, Siena, San Gimignano, Volterra and Vinci (birthplace of Leonardo da Vinci). Easy to reach from the main autostrada, close to big shopping centres but also close to quiet rural areas where there are numerous small medieval villages famous for their good wines and olive oil. Nearby is also the seaside region of Versilia, with its famous beach resorts of Viareggio, Torre del Lago Puccini and Forte dei Marmi. Nearby is the small old town of Montecatini where there are several tennis courts, a theatre, a hippodrome and also a train station with excellent rail connections to the largest cities in Tuscany. ”
