Description

Located in one of the most renowned residential neighbourhoods of Florence and right in the centre, offering the opportunity of an authentic Dolcevita Italian living, this apartment gives its offers the plus of being walking distance to a number of restaurants, shops, bakeries and great walks. Inside guests will find some exposed paints and original frescos, a fully equipped kitchen, and comfortable common spaces. Located just behind the church of San Lorenzo and almost exactly at the entrance to the Medici Chapels, this noble family belongs to a prominent Florentine family. The Palazzo was considerably renovated in the eighteenth century, when it took on its present appearance and it consists of three floors. From the front doors guests enter a hallway decorated in the nineteenth century: worthy of note the wrought iron gates and, facing the stairway, a doorway engraved with the coat arms of the family. On the first floor (the piano nobile) decorated with precious wall paintings by Vincenzo Meucci, the private home is today one of the largest apartments in Florence for private hire, and it's perfect for families and for those with a taste for Art and a central location. The owners are very involved in making guests feel at home, bringing the very best of Italian hospitality to an International, sophisticated crowd.

Visit the Duomo, admire Brunelleschi's groundbreaking cupola, and climb to the top if in good shape. Visit the Accademia and marvel at Michelangelo's David. Sample the Chianti's wine at any of the terrific enoteche lining Greve's Piazza Matteotti. Cross the Ponte Vecchio to the Giardino di Boboli, a huge park on a hillside in the middle of Florence behind the Pitti Palace. Michelangelo's David, probably the most famous sculpture in the world, is in the Galleria dell'Accademia. The Galleria degli Uffizi holds the world's most important collection of Renaissance art. APARTMENT LOCATED ON THE FIRST FLOOR

Entrance Hall - The back wall is covered by a tapestry from the sixteenth century.
Formal Living room - A very large room with air conditioning, which looks directly towards the Medici Chapels, is decorated with frescos of the allegory 'of music' and contains a balcony (not accessible) for the musicians who used to delight the evening dances in the Palazzo.
Gallery - A corridor that connects the living room with the rest of the house, with the walls and ceiling completely decorated with frescos depicting vegetation and other designs.

Formal Dining room - A large dining room with air conditioning that looks out onto the square, and containing some furniture from the seventeenth century. The walls are decorated with oil paintings from various periods. The dining room contains the most important fresco in the Palazzo, the 'Allegory of the Arts and the Virtues which defeat the Vices', by Vincenzo Meucci (1759)
Master Double bedroom - Large bedroom with air conditioning, with alcove where Pope Clement VIII slept. Antique gilded four-poster double bed (1.6m bed).
Main bathroom - containing WC, bath and large shower.
Studio room with air conditioning, with sofa bed (0.9m bed and for additional sleeping only) that becomes a single bedroom with private bathroom. It is adorned with a delightful frescoed ceiling.
Guest bathroom - WC and bathtub with iron lion paw legs.
