Villa near San Gimignano - Villa Celli is located on the outskirts of the medieval village of Montelopio, a short walking distance from the local trattoria, in a lush, verdant landscape dotted with olive groves, vines and sunflowers.
Dating from the 18th century, this former farmhouse has been restored with great attention to detail. Original features such as the terracotta floor tiles, chestnut wood beams and stone walls provide a most welcoming environment. A former dovecote now provides a tower feature at the top of the house which affords a 360-degree view of the surrounding landscape.
This area is rich in history, art and culture. Volterra, Certaldo, hometown of the great poet Boccaccio, Siena and Florence all make for interesting days out; even the journey to these wonderful old towns through this beautiful landscape will be a pleasure!

A Wonderful Holiday
We had a lovely two week holiday at this villa with our family. The villa is absolutely amazing. The villa was very very clean and well equipped. The pool is a good size and was cleaned every other day. The small pool for the children was lovely. The garden is large and there is plenty of space for children to play and run around. Internally the villa is a very good size and all the bedrooms and bathrooms are very well equipped and a good size. The villa owner was always very helpful and responded very quickly to phone calls and e-mails. Quality Villas have been very good at dealing with queries both before we went to Italy and during our stay.
Although the villa is in a remote location, the nearest town is a 20 minute drive away, we did not find this a problem at all.
We would highly recommend this villa and we would definitely return.
We had a lovely time at the villa
Annette from London
The villa is beautiful and as described on the site. The various outdoor sitting areas were lovely and of course the pool - which was frequently cleaned and checked on, was wonderful.
The location is very rural - although there is one unique restaurant within walking distance which is a must to visit. Because of its location a car is essential - some people may not like the villa's very rural setting.
The owners met us and showed us around and touched base at intervals through the week to ensure all was ok and responded well to problems.
We had lovely days out to Peccioli and Volterra (a free sight seeing tour was memorable) and day visit to Florence a must.
We could have done without the insect bites - repellent we used too late! And I would suggest the owners update the visitors book more - with up to date information on shops - especially supermarkets and other local restaurants .
I would have no hesitation of recommending this beautiful villa with pleasant and helpful owners for anyone looking for a luxury rural break.
