Exclusive aristocratic villa near Lucca - Villa Gemma is truly a gem within the Quality Villas portfolio of luxury holiday villas in Tuscany. Built in the XVII century this magnificent historical mansion has undergone extensive renovation and restoration in recent years which has returned it to its original splendour.
An extension has further enhanced the building, offering modern accommodation which has been painstakingly decorated with frescoes every bit as worthy of this artisan tradition as the originals themselves. With lavish use of marble and refined furnishings along with the splendid Italian formal gardens this property exudes the elegance and style of bygone days, yet is perfectly combined with modern comforts such as air conditioning, a lift to all floors, a television set in every room and internet points throughout to ensure good connection.
The grounds around Villa Gemma offer numerous shaded areas for relaxation from which you can enjoy far-reaching views over Lucca and the Apuan Alps. Take a stroll under the illuminated rose pergola surrounding the pool after you have enjoyed a genuine Italian dinner al fresco prepared for you by the chef, available on request, and served on the splendid terrace. No surprise many couples from all over the world choose this villa as a perfect setting for their wedding celebrations!
This exclusive holiday villa is ideally located to explore the Tuscan countryside, taste excellent wines and olive oil, and enjoy the lively beach life along the Versilia coastline. “ I strongly suggest a visit to Lucca, a lively and historical town with plenty of shops and restaurants: why not hire bikes and ride round the old city walls? Pisa's world-famous treasures are certainly worth seeing, and if you want to spend time at the beach, why not drive to the attractive seaside resort of Viareggio on the Versilia coast? Viareggio boasts culture and a famous Carnevale, four weeks of fun in which tourists from all over Italy come to admire amazinbg floats. At the Puccini Festival in Torre del Lago you can enjoy both the opera and the magnificent surroundings at the open-air theatre, which offers a magnificent view of the lake, framed by the Apuan Alps. The typical cuisine of the region mixes the flavours of the sea and the mountains, like farro with fish, or shrimps and squids baked with farro and seasoned with olive oil and tomatoes. Some well-known local dishes include cèe in padella, pan fried eel made with garlic and sage, and scarpaccia, a traditional vegetable pie. ”
