Set on a hillside amidst olive groves and sunflower fields, this impeccably restored farmhouse enjoys magnificent views over the medieval village of Todi and the surrounding Umbrian countryside. All this just a short drive from shops, restaurants and Todi’s iconic square.
This characterful property retains its original charm featuring old terracotta floors, wooden beamed ceilings and open fireplaces and the addition of European antique furnishings helps create an authentic atmosphere. The charming secluded garden has century-old oak trees, climbing clematis, roses and the remains of ancient stone walls from a 12th century village. Find a perfect spot for your dinners al fresco - seasoned with fresh herbs from the herb garden - under vine-clad pergola; and enjoy the unforgettable vista over Todi from the garden, as you sip a glass of local wine, fully immersed in this Umbrian idyll.
The verdant, undulating countryside of this region is truly remarkable; a panorama of forested hills stretches as far as the eye can see, with attractive hilltop villages offering an incredibly rich artistic heritage. Wander through these timeless treasures as you follow ancient trails or take the wine route instead, visiting wineries and cellars to taste some of the best local appellations. Wild boar and truffles are the local specialities of the so-called cucina povera (peasant cooking) equally served in Michelin-starred restaurants as well as in Trattorie. You will find plenty in nearby Todi – but also local crafts shops, delicatessen and farmers markets. Lively music, art and gastronomic festivals further contribute to the appeal of this ancient town. Further afield you find hand painted ceramics in Deruta, linens and wine tours in Montefalco, splendid squares, churches, art masterpieces in Spoleto as well as open air concerts held in its splendid squares.

What a beautiful home base from which to explore Umbria! We found the house to be well-equipped and charming. Our party of five (me, my girlfriend, my mother and my two teenage daughters) were comfortably accommodated. The house is set in a beautiful part of Umbia, just outside Todi, with a fantastic pool and garden. It was wonderful to eat outside at any hour of the day since the pergola offered nice shade. Triestina, the housekeeper, was quick to help us when we needed it. I would recommend this property without reservation to anyone who wants a beautiful vacation home in a marvelous setting. We had two magical weeks. The house was a perfect fit for two families, and we loved spending as much time outside (by the pool or under the pergola) as indoors. We took numerous day trips to Assisi, Spoleto, Perugia, Orvieto and even further afield to Venice and Pompeii. I have traveled throughout Italy but never in Umbria, which is now my favorite part of Italy! Triestina, the housekeeper, cooked dinner for us on two occasions and we thoroughly enjoyed her expertise with local dishes. The kids (ranging in age from 14 to 20) loved seeing Italy from this very special perspective. We would love to come back someday. Thank you for an incredible vacation. This villa is everything it was advertised to be and more. The fabulous housekeeper, Triestina, was there to greet us and we had arranged for her prepare our dinner that first night. As I glanced at the kitchen counter, I could tell we were in for a treat! Everything was fresh, vegetables and herbs from her garden, fresh pasta, fabulous mozzarella and chicken that needed nothing but a fork to cut. Our first night was Magic, ten of us sitting outside under the pergola being served fabulous food by the sweetest woman in Italy. We were all speechless....pretty amazing for our group. When Triestina left, the kitchen was spotless. The house is beautiful, comfortable and unbelievably well equipped. We needed nothing, meverything was there. M The gardens are beyond beautiful and the pool area brought hours of pleasure to young and old alike. In the evening we would sit outside near the pool and watch as the children chased fireflies. An informative binder with everything you could wish to know about the house and the area. There are restaurant recommendations which were terrific and we followed them and were not disappointed. The proximity of the house to the Umbrian hill towns is perfect. Within a ninety minute drive are: Assisi, Spoleto, Deruta, Perugia, Todi (a few miles away) just to name a few. We visited all of of those mentioned, as well as a beautiful mountain lake resort called Lake Trasimeno. We came from the San Francisco Bay Area and it was worth every dollar we spent. Our goal is to return in a few years and visit this magic place again. You will not be disappointed. (Review shared with Quality Villas from the villa Owners guest book)
