Lake Trasimeno villa - Villa Giulietta is a charming Tuscan villa, formerly a working olive oil mill, with origins dating back to the 18th century. An imposing structure with a panoramic hillside position overlooking the lake, Giulietta has been sympathetically restored throughout in accordance with the area's architectural traditions and using local stone.
The property lies on the border between the gentle, undulating landscape of Tuscany and the green hills of Umbria, so both regions are on your doorstep and easy to explore from here. Wonderful hilltop towns such as Cortona, Perugia, Assisi and Montepulciano, to name but a few, would all make memorable and fun days out.
A lakeside road below the villa leads to Tuoro just over a mile away; you will find your nearest supermarkets and restaurants are here. This Italian villa near Lake Trasimeno is just 3 miles from the water's edge: why not enjoy a boat trip to some of the islands on the lake or enjoy a stroll along the shore? There are plenty of water sports here, and bathing on the beaches, as well as many excellent restaurants, trattorias and pizzerias in the towns and villages around the lake. “ This villa's in a great location, right in the heart of Italy, but only about three miles to Lake Trasimeno where there are nicely-kept beaches with playgrounds for children. This lake is popular with families as the water is deceptively shallow and warms up nicely in the summer. The local towns of Tuoro and Passignano are charming, and have all the local amenities and restaurants that you could want. You're spoilt for choice for places to visit, with Siena, Perugia, Assisi and Arezzo all within easy reach for a day trip. The villa itself has a good-sized pool and plenty of space for children to play; it's ideal for family or friends travelling together where a couple of members of the party would appreciate the extra privacy afforded by the annex. ”

Nearest shop is A&O in Tuoro - turn right at crossroads heading up to Tuoro and it is half a mile on left hand side. A better stocked A&O is on the way to Cortona but 10 minutes away as opposed to five. Take plenty of anti-mosquito spray and other products.
A Lovely Week
The Mosely Family
Our week at Giulietta was perfect. The house was lovely, and set in a pretty garden, with beautiful views especially of the sunset! The pool was gorgeous - large enough that you could swim properly, but good for mucking about in too, and sunny all day. Local supermarkets were good and restaurants too. The history of the area was fascinating. And the owner made us feel really welcome. All in all, we had a great stay!
